Terms of Use

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using Folio. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Folio ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the App.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
• Remove any proprietary notices or labels on the App

3. Folio Pro Subscription

Folio offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks additional features. The following terms apply:

• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account via the App Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings
• No refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period, except as required by applicable law
• Free trial periods, if offered, will convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends

4. User Content

All content you create in Folio — including book entries, reading notes, and session data — belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over your content. You are solely responsible for the content you create and store in the App.

5. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the Google Books API to provide book search functionality. Your use of this feature is subject to Google's Terms of Service. We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of data provided by third-party services.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the App.

8. Data Loss

Since all data is stored locally on your device, we are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, accidental deletion, software updates, or any other cause. We strongly recommend enabling iCloud backup to protect your data.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
